My name is Garrett Wood and I'm an Animation/Illustration major at the University of Northwestern - St. Paul focusing in 3D animation and effects. I have been fascinated by animation from a young age, but it took a while before I found myself in a position where I could start looking into it as a career.
My main focus for my goals in animation are based more in the technical side of things, meaning that I am interested in doing anything from effects to cinematography to video production/editing. I didn't come into animation from an art side, but rather from a science/engineering side. Before I declared myself as an Animation student, I was an Electrical Engineering major at both Century College and the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. I like to think that I am in a unique position to combine the worlds of math and art to make and enhance animations for truly unique viewing experiences!
Personal interests of mine include playing music and connecting with friends through online gaming. I also have a hobby of learning new skills. I play 3 instruments (guitar, bass, and trumpet), speak 3 languages (English, German, and currently learning Russian) and can do basic programming in both C++ & Python.
Here is where you can download my resume and take a look at my portfolio book to get more information about myself and the projects that I've worked on!
